What is the difference between hope and faith?

How do you apply both in you life?

What do you do when you have none?

Hope is more passive. Faith is more assertive. Hope is typically thought of for future occurances. Faith is typically used for present occurances.

i guess ... I don't see hope as passive. Hope gets me through the day. I do see faith and action going hand in hand (leap of faith)

They are both confidence but faith is a more broader term. Hope is the confidence that something will go your way and faith is the extreme confidence in something or an event. For example someone has faith in god, which is the complete opposite of athiesm, meaning no matter how much facts or obvious signs they are that god doesnt exist they still believe in that very god.

I'm working on a relationship with God. Might never do religion however. Didn't feel part of or accepted. But I immediately need help with finances and health. Not sure which belief system or set of people to put faith in. I have doubts and fears. Been let down big time in the past.

Hope is a desire of/for something. Faith is trusting in something. They differ in that hope more of an expectation and faith is a "knowing" without knowing.

I don't see how someone can operate or being "faithless". We all have faith. Faith in family, friends, the law, tomorrow won't be our last day, the sun will rise...etc.

If you mean Faith as in religious Faith Religions are just lies we tell ourselves to feel better about how our hopes rarely line up with reality. It's not always a bad thing doe.
