probably around the same as the OP ($4-5) but I was a teenager still in high school…one job was at barnes and noble and the other was working in a t-shirt warehouse at the US open…I don’t think I’ve made lower than $8-10/hr as a working adult, and I’ve had quite a few odd jobs outside of teaching

Yo! I once worked 127 hours in a pay period. Was really chasing the bag at Golden Coral. Can't remember what the check looked like, but I was making like 7 something an hour back in 03. I work way smarter now! Lol

Them checks felt diff. You could afford to hit the mall, get some tees, timbs, a fitted, a meal, and a cd. Even had money for snacks at school the next day. Simpler times.

Commission work..put on a button up slacks and tie everyday for a week and went door to door trying to get people to buy shutters worked two weeks and at the end got a check for $9.25 I was so ashamed the bank teller looked like she wanted to cry for me when she cashed it ..I bought a Big Mac and a $5 bag of weed
