What is the policy for dumping threads into The Root?

We are getting a series of played out threads in The Root from TLR. Shaun King blew up in TLR on Wednesday and someone had the nerve to STICKY it in The Root today.

Many of those TLR threads are hating and disrespecting black men and women. We don't talk like that in The Root.

If you don't want those threads in TLR, toss them in the bushes or delete them from the site.

You said that threads get featured automatically. I have never seen a thread from Higher Learning featured.

Deez Nuts is blowing up in the polls and one of the best viewed new threads in Higher Learning but that did not get featured.

I thought The Root was about intellectual discussion on cultural issues, but it's nothing but TLR Jr. at this point. Threads like this should either be in TLR or The Bushes, they don't fit what The Root should be about IMO.

I'm fine with The Root being TLR's trash dumping ground, but at least change the meaning of it and move the serious threads elsewhere.

People were complaining that we were turning the Root into a dumping ground by leaving shytty threads in TLR and moving threads that fit the tone of the Root, to the Root. So now everything is going in there and the mods of that forum can reject, bush, or delete what doesn't fit. I find it funny that people say threads die when they are mover there but that gender bait thread is still alive and kicking. Funny, that.

That's what The Bushes section was created for. All those gender bait threads should get the automatic Bushes treatment.
