What is the real issue on H.L.? ( A Discussion Thread)

Mods: It needs to be addressed.


When I first got here on the coli like many others it was because I was not satisfied( mainly tired) of Sohh and it's restrictions on what topics are discussed and who can do what in different forums based off certain cliques. Also because the trolls were ran-sacking all the threads with non-sense. Well it seems that the problems of sohh have followed here. In the HL, especially I've noticed good topics, debate threads being destroyed by trolls. The irrelevant threads like race-baiting, religious-baiting threads would be the norm and critical thinking seems to be outlawed. I find it ironic that republicans/democrats can speak on their topics, atheists can speak on their topics but those who don't fit that bubble who create critical thinking threads( alot of good posters too) have their views banned/threads deleted or pushed into other forums.

Personally it's not my business to enter a thread I'm not interested in and rate it because I don't like the poster. I don't think it's the mods job to delete critical thinking threads because the mod has a personal opinion about the subject. Right here shows the power-trips on the mods end to do something about the thread, even though the thread was put within the contents of the rules. Not every mod does that...just addressing the issue. This place has only been up a year and it's getting out of control.

i barely post.. usually just browse for some hidden gems that dont have a bunch of bullshyt arguing between people who would blow their brains out if they were asked to hold an opposing view . BUT im convinced we have a bunch of TLOL aliases running around in those Israel threads either that or we we got a JIDF/IIDF chapter here on the coli

The biggest problem in HL is everyone has a persecution complex and whines whenever things don't go their way and they have VERY short memories. We've addressed how things are done enough to the point where I'll just @Brown_Pride do it if he wants. As for the Israel thread.....it was requested to be thrown in the bushes well before you said anything and I refused...I mean the posts are still right there in the thread. @thekingsmen what you don't get is that I've gotten PMs and reported posts numerous times about people who get upset about how people like you post. They claim that trolls and "anti-intellectuals" are ruining the board and that BP and I are fukking up just letting guys like @iLLaV3 run freely. So this idea that we're somehow against you is ridiculous.

Your problem is with your fellow HL posters who come in your threads just to be disrespectful and to demean you and not to contribute in a constructive manner because they think you're not making any sense. I can only ban so many people from threads or delete their posts before I'm basically a babysitter (and I've done it a lot). You guys need to sort that out on your own because there's no way we can moderate that 24-7, we've tried too many times and it always blows up into something big.

I back pretty much all of my thoughts and suggestions with literature (biblically and scientific). As the @thekingsmen said, my post are to produce critical thinking & not just mainstream norms of follow the leader.

You're missing the point, what I mean, is that posters like you, and pretty much anyone in that Hidden Colors thread co-signing are considered a problem in HL. Now, seeing as how you're still posting here and I have never once warned you or anything else....I have no idea where you get the idea that somehow the moderators are picking sides.

I got bored. I was going to change it to Voltaire to match the quote in my sig but I couldn't get with having that dude in my avi. That and because I'm going to be spending less time around outside of just modding and I figured that if people couldn't @ me they'd resort to @ BP but that hasn't worked

I get your point now, I was just wondering why I was singled out. No biggie IMO.

Its sad that 'we' are considered a problem though. I love this forum for intellectual debate and difference in opinion. If everyone thought the same..it would be a pretty boring place & a complete circle jerk.
