Herein lies the flaw in your thought process. Words like beginning and end... If you were immortal and invincible would you care about these words?
Time is relative to where you're at or what you are. A tree's concept of time would probably be drastically different from ours if trees could talk...Or eat a large dose of mushrooms and see how your concept of time changes. I've stared at clocks for what felt like hours before the time changed while on mushrooms.

But time never ends even if people do. The universe has always been here and always will be as civilizations go extinct.
I think you two brehs are in the right direction because no matter the meaning of time, it must be applicable and works consistently the same when it is applied to other entities

A human, an asteroid, and a planet will have similar notion of time that is interpreted differently
Human - time includes a start and end concept
Astroid - time includes distance
Planet - time includes a start and end concept

They all agree on a duration concept, nothing happen instantly, regardless of how fast something occurs. In the entity, there is always a process that must be completed before another process begins. Same with time

So time is a snapshot of a moment in a process

think of it like this.

1 dimensional is a line from Point A to Point B. you can only move in one direction because there's no room to turn around.

2 dimensional is a flat square. You can move around, but you can't move "up or down", which is kinda relative cause there is no up or down without gravity, but anyway.... We can see it but only if it isn't turned sideways.

3 dimensional..... well, here we are. up, down and all around. Height, width, depth. X, Y, Z axis. blah blah blah

I say all that to say that we're stuck only moving in a linear fashion time wise is because we aren't high up enough the dimensional scale to walk around in it. We can only move from Point A to Point B because time wise we're stuck on 1D, chronologically speaking. One step up we'd at least be able to move side to side, possibly backwards.

Sometimes our consciousness gets a bit of wiggle room and we experience dumb shyt like Deja Vu (doing what you already did) or we get the really good drugs and experience stuff slowed down, sped up or even out of chronological order.

Being that consciousness is another form of energy, and energy can't be destroyed, only moved or transformed. Energy exists everywhere and every when. We just happen to be stuck in these meat machines that can only filter reality on a 3d scale normally. We're like bugs trapped in amber.

this is why i like to talk you brehs about this stuff, i never would have thought of it like this.
but it makes sense.
i wonder why we're stuck in the dimension we're in? would it be dangerous for a human of a 3d nature to live in a 5 dimensional world where you can move around in time? why don't we have 5 dimensional bodies? :ohhh:

My teacher explained that just like sound has different frequencies, some sounds we could hear other we can't, maybe dimensions have the same concept

It's really interesting and scary at the same time cause you realize how much humans don't know about the universe and about the laws and sciences that govern us
