I've come to the realization that they are hardly any threads in reagrds to Freestyle fellowship. For those that are in fact fans of the group, what do you consider to be your favorite album by the group?

My first introduction to FF was ICG in like 95'. This cat I went to school with from LA put me on. Thought I had heard EVERYTHING outta southern Cali at the time. Had me listen to Bullies....On first listen :scusthov:then he played me Cornbread:ohhh: took me minute but once I got into their style I became a fan, played the shyt out that album. fukked with EVERYTHING these cats done put out. Every album is different with some dope shyt from every member. Even on their last album, this is like hands down one of my favorite cuts from the EVER.

Innercity Griots. The debut album is pretty much a collection of classic solo joints with no group joints besides We Will Not Tolerate.

The Good Life was crackin when IG came out. Fun azz times.

That last album was fire. Myka has been killin it the past few years. While Acey was putting out arguably the best material(solo/groups/comps) of anyone in the 90s, Mikah was pretty quiet besides guest appearances, a rare solo joint in It's All Love, and the super group Haiku d'etat. I always wished he would put out an album when he was signed to Capital in the mid 90s.

Start out with Inner City Griots.......You might not like it at first, spoken word type freestyle rhymes over jazzy production, but give it a chance. The first cats from the west coast to spit with this bugged out style. As the years went by each member became doper n doper IMO. Check out Temptations (Personal Favorite), Shockadoom (ridiculous), and The Promise in that order. Give all 4 albums a chance cause these cats are spittin.

Yeah, Acey n Mike have steady put out music throughout the years.......But my personal favs were always Peace n Jupiter, bruh, those cats was so underrated. Peace with all that talent only managed to drop what...2 solos? Every time he spit he had me rollin, would be dope to hear him drop a new solo but that fool work ethic is HORRIBLE. Jupiter on this right here tho....

Man, FF had me discovering the entire Good Life. OP is right this should be like an official Good Life thread because there aren't any. So many collabs n off-shoot albums. You mention Haiku, this was my shyt :pachaha:

I didn't care for Jup until he got out of of jail. He did kill Can You Find and the whole last FF album. PEACE is a amazing talent but like you said was unwilling to put the work in. 6 Tray is that sh!t.

Yeah there needs to more discussion on the Good Life/Project Blowed era of the 90s. Sadly it never really blew up beyond West Coast Underground but probably never was really meant too. I remember Skee lo use to kill it at open mic...he was there every Thursday. His song blew up, he got big headed and kats started booing him. Then dude just vanished. :mjlol:

Was that before Hard Hat Area? That was a dope, dark, concept album. You peeped that project he did with Kenny Segal? I swear all 4 of those cats have always came up with dope/original concepts for songs n albums.

Man had no idea Skee Lo was up at the GL also, like Volume 10:heh:
