2008-2012 was the weed rap era. currensy and wiz khalifa, dom kennedy, etc

before that, was the new yawk shyt. buncha djs screaming and hyping up the tracks, with crack bars and shyt (dedication 2, cassidy shyt, fab and joey, dipset,, max b, etc, g unit)

before that, was the dj clue and doo whop shyt naw mean? 20 fire new tracks and freestyles and ended with like 4 rnb tracks. heat

before that, was the 80s shyt.

Classifying the mid 2000s as "dipset and em" is disingenuous

Gangsta Grillz,Southern Smoke, Gucci, Boosie were running the scene at that point. Not the dips.

Early 90s ...Ron G...Kid Capri..Doo Wop..S&S

Were they really MIXED...BLENDED and SCRATCHED

CLUE fukked the game up by allowing mixtapes to become promo tools for the record labels
:snoop:

Which is why the 2000s with dipset and gangsta grillz cant be considered mixtapes

Just Street album compilations put out by artists

"Ron G. In the cassette deck..rocking that shyt G!- NAS
