Can't really beat the versatility of music...
You can use music to enhance just about anything else, or as it's own thing.
Plus there's the ubiquity of music... There are people in the world who don't like movies or reading or watching TV, but I don't think I've ever met someone who said they just don't like music.

I find ppl are usually either a audio or visual media consumer.
I'm a visual so anything i can watch and see with my eyes and process, movies, tv, video games....i especially love watching YouTube because i can tailor it to what i like. Music is not even on my radar anymore.

It’s changed now with social media and the internet but hip hop as a whole.
Album rollouts, features, posse cuts, beefs, subliminals etc.. I don’t think I’ll ever really be entertained again like keeping up with hip hop through the radio and magazines as a teen
