The type of mfers who schedule trips across the country and sew costumes for random ass conventions only other nerds would know about

Mfers who use Linux shared across three huge ass monitors for no reason.

The type of mfers to install smart LED lights under their desks and decorate their rooms with random ass sci-fi memorabilia they haven’t taken out of the box yet

The type of mfers who are 36 and still read comics on their bed while kicking their feet and chewing a Bazooka Joe

I guess you can say all three are nerds. but like anything else, how you carry that label determines whether or not its a bad thing. It's not inherently swagless

It has a lot to do with their lack of social skills. Combine that with their interest in things like computers, science, anime and other stuff that most “cool” people aren’t into, then you have yourself a nerd.

A nerd was a dude who basically was smart and knew how to use computers at a high level. Nowadays most people should have intermediate computer skills and everyone has access to mass amounts of information. Nerds would be at the library reading books…everybody watching YouTube videos learning how to do stuff

I dont remeber where i heard it from, but i think someone once said the difference between a nerd and a geek is the financial viability of the thing they are obsessed with. For example, a geek would be all up in that starwars, anime, chess, and MMORPG stuff. Things with no direct or delayed financial benefit.

A nerd would be The linux user, the coder, the math athletes, the debate-club memebers, chemistry wiz(es) , telescope-fans, and even your cryptoBrehs. All Things with delayed or direct financial benefit.


So generally speaking you become either a nerd or a geek when you obsess over something that isnt mainstream. The financial viability of your obsession makes you a nerd.

There's a difference between being a nerd and a flat out dork.

All being a nerd means is that you're into one particular thing A LOT. Anime, comics and sci fi-anything are pretty nerdy too, or were, but many of these things are normal in today's society.

Dorks on the other hand are the stereotypical geeks.
