what makes an album boring ??

Excessive Length, big part of why I can't get into albums like Mecca and the Soul Brother/The Main Ingredient
Edit: I will say, some albums I don't mind as much but those two have too many long ass songs and I can only take so much C.L. Smooth over laid back beats
At least some of the longer albums have that one 10 minute song at the end and not just a whole tracklist filled with 5+ minute songs

how long do you think an album should be ??
Most of my favorites are in the 40-50 minute range, and that is usually the length that most of the albums that are really important fall in for me
Amerikkka's Most Wanted - 49 minutes
Illmatic - 39 minutes
Doggystyle - 54 minutes
Those are a few examples
If it's over an hour it's usually interesting enough that it feels shorter than it really is, or is just good music that you don't mind
Voodoo - 1 hour 18 minutes
To Pimp a Butterfly - 1 hour 18 minutes
College Dropout - 1 hour 19 minutes
It does start to get a little different when you're talking about other genres though, but even then I do like shorter albums for the most part

J. Cole for one. He's not only boring but he's corny as fukk too. Cormega's last album was pretty boring.
Production is probably the other important thing for me, rapping isn't as big of an issue
But when the production is good and the rapping is just average or worse you can still get a decent album or even a really good album

Idk about rap, but for pop/r&bwhat in your opinion makes an album boring ??
Generic beats, cliche lyrics and song topics, terrible melodies, off key or plain singing (no runs/riffs, or harmonies), having all uptempo or all slow songs/ballads
