Was talking to my little brother today and he revealed to me that he hated being Black. He's been suicidal about his race for a long time. He hates how he's part of the most hated race in the world, sometimes has a harder time with females, has to get a haircut every 2 weeks, the stereotypes, how others ruin the perception of the entire group, his facial features, being tied to Africa, slavery, always being the victim, etc

I didnt know what to say when he told me

He's really young, need to give him things to instill pride in his race. Comes as a shock because the rest of the family is just so proud. This generation smh. Self hate is a muthafuka.

What makes you brehs proud to be black? Let's get some positivity going

Native Americans, Europeans, Asians all got fukked by Africans which created sub-races of other people (Japanese, Brazilians, Mexicans etc) It all started from Africa

Even after many of us have been captured and been subjugated to the worst atrocities ever inflicted on human beings, we have a ridiculous amount of cultural impact of the world

You dont need to be proud of some notion of racial accomplishment to be proud/content of what you are, that alone reeks of insecurity. All humans should have pride in their skin, it's not something malleable as in affected by accomplishments or lack of it. It's innate, for you to function in a healthy and respectable manner you need to be prideful in your own skin; and you carry yourself with self respect and dignity. And that's not something that should be affected by an accomplishment of some scientist whom has nothing to do with you apart from the colour of your skin.
And i dont believe we are the most "hated" race, which seems to be some indulgence in self pity. And even if we were the most "hated" why should it affect your self worth or better yet why give a damn.
