What percent of the roster do you think don't care about a push?

I would guess that at LEAST 70% legit don't care about any kind of push like that. Their main concern is the money, traveling, and/or the opportunity to perform in the biggest wrestling company, simply for the love of performing. Now of course, some of them will get and accept pushes anyway for various reasons....but they could easily do without it. I would even argue that a few of them would even reject an offered push because it might mean more required promos/appearances/other 'extra' shyt that they don't wanna do

I think Owen Hart was a good example of this. All kind of nikkas go on about "Owen shoulda gotten the WWE title; he was the best Hart; he was better than Bret; he should have been pushed more".......all of which may have been true.....and yet Owen was reportedly just saving up his money so that he could leave wrestling, retire and chill with his family. Owen wasn't fiending for a push like that, and even went along with the bullshyt 'punishment' Blue Blazer gimmick........most likely with the mentality of "whatever; as long as I get paid :manny: "

Look at someone like Swagger, for example. Swagger could EASILY be part of this 70% for all I know (I could be wrong). To my knowledge he only had two significant WWE pushes: his WHC run and the 'We The People' run; otherwise Swagger has been forgettable in WWE. Now some dudes will clown wrestlers like Swagger for being jobber status.......not realizing that he's not Phil Brooks. He doesn't have an obsession with the idea of being a multi-time WWE champion and main-eventing Wrestlemania. Swagger might just want his damn money. And as long as he gets that, he wins.....no matter how shytty WWE books him :manny:

Exactly.

Its called not being a mark. Sure there are guys id rather see on top at times but the wrestlers are making money and that should be what matters. If theyre having fun theyre good

even the lowest guy on the totem pole gets to travel the country, be on TV and make decent money i'm sure. i know i would rather job every week than work an actual 9 to 5. :yeshrug:

plus truth be told you never know when it could be your turn. this company is run by batshyt crazy ppl, you could find yourself climbing up the ladder anytime. look at ellsworth. went from a one time cameo to a full time position out of nowhere.

It's not being a mark but at the same time if you're too low on the card or "creative has nothing for you," you could easily find yourself looking for indie bookings or movie roles.

There has to be a balance that I think the Kofi's, Ryder's and Swagger's of the roster have actually found.

Ironically friends and family probably care about pushes more because they know that's more money coming their way.

If you don't think they want to be pushed ask yourself why they wear their own shirts to the ring. Why BAILEY was rocking BAILEY BEARS for some holiday cash yesterday...the push is about the money and they all want it.

I'm assuming the company makes them wear the merch, since they're making more money from it anyway......

And of course a push means more money.......but it's not more money for doing the exact same thing; there's a trade-off......

More (& longer) matches, more promo time due to the push, more pressure to look more like a main-eventer (cue extra roids for guys like Mysterio and Eddie), more pressure to be more captivating on the mic and as a character......and if it's a serious push then there's more outside-the-ring shyt to do like radio interviews and other PR-type appearances, mainstream TV appearances like late-night talk shows, possible movie roles, and other random shyt like how Cena does the Make-A-Wish appearances

There are a lot of wrestlers who would be :whoa: to all that extra shyt, like "Naw, I'm good.......just gimme $150K to job in short matches and go around telling people to just Bo-lieve"

A smaller percentage than people realize.

Some names of ones who definitely don't care:
Mark Henry, Big Show, Kane, Jinder Mahal, Curt Hawkins, Jericho (he's just happy to be away from his family :lolbron:), R-Truth, Goldust, Paige, Jack Swagger.

Everyone else on the roster wants to get some sort of push or increased TV exposure.
