What production things do you guys need help with?

I use fl studio and make tutorial videos and what not. What types of things do you guys need help with?

Another thing is i have started a podcast to basically have a discussion on topics. The first episode was on the truth about mixing beats. If you have any topic suggestions let me know

Also i have been starting up challenge videos. The first one i did was i made a westcoast beat using a pokemon sample. Any other suggestions for challenges?

i got you! i chop my samples the same 99% of the time, but i add effects and what not when necessary. i will make a video on easy ways to manipulate samples and another on basslines

I can pump out beats like it ain't shyt if it's non-sample and VST based, that shyt is starting to come naturally to me and every now and then I find something different to try with those as I make song after song.

But more than anything else I definitely struggle with sampling and having an ear for it. Things I want to loop are usually things that have been looped a thousand times already, and it's hard for me to have the patience to loop and modify a sample enough for it to sound like something worth using. I noticed online though that people take samples and just add them to a long library of samples to be used later rather than right at that moment, so I might do that to get game up in that department.

I haven't dipped that deep into mastering either yet but I probably won't unless I start trying to work with people.

I definitely would like to hear some sample tips, specifically for me using a maschine mikro mk 2 if you have them. I been trying to get it down and making some progression but any advice is good for me.

Learning modes and thinking of melody as rhythm really helped me....

I hate it though and would rather create melodies based on some harmonic structure than the other way around....

Sometimes I'll play some keys over a sample and use that... or chop and screw or splice samples to mine melodies over a set of more complex harmonic changes.. ( plunderphonics ).....
