So long story short the interscope machine merged with the hype killed him ?

Basically. 50 Cent had the raw that counter acted what Ja was doing at the time. Ja basically left hip-hop, which I don't blame him for. The money was there for the taking. He dropped Blood in my Eye for NO REASON whatsoever, and the rest is history. His next album still had hits on it, but the damage was done. Now, when you see him go out at concerts or festivals, he gets the love he deserves.

Ja rule's rap persona combined with the attitudes ingrained within early 2000 hip hop culture left his brand vulnerable for attack.

As bad luck would have it, Ja's prime adversary, a snitch-turned-rapper, was at the peak of his popularity. And had successfully fooled the entire culture into believing that he was the most authentic street rapper ever.

This created a worse case scenario for Ja because it wasn't just your average artist exploiting Ja's vulnerabilities, it was arguably THE MOST believable street artist at a level of popularity that was unheard of exploiting his vulnerabilities. This amplified the damage greatly and permanently reduced Ja's fanbase.

Didn't they have the toy doll rockin' Ja Rule's chain in 50's first mainstream video? 50 absolutely destroyed that man.

^^^^then if this wasn't enough, the adlibs mimicking Ja's gay barber that he allegedly f*cked:
