I was considering Predator and Bow Down to be honest but I also have "west coast ears" (although certainly alot more refined that our resident Mack 10 fan from earlier)

However i definitely respect the argument that Cubes complacency and slide into gangsterism should never be considered excellent especially by the standards
Of his earlier work.

In light of this, i can say then that i cannot think of one hip hop artist that has 5 definitive excellent albums, if we stick to a respected concept of excellence

Yeah. Honestly No one aside from Krs has 5 great albums....but Kris ain't for everyone and the fab 5 certainly aren't. especially the way new schoolers try and marginalize him.

In all honesty, I personally love Wu Tang Forever for obvi reasons, it's quality not withstanding, but i know good and well that shyt was polarizing.

even getting to TWO GREAT albums in rap is criteria for the HOF. problem is, fans don't know from great anymore. Kanye has not one great album.

I personally think Erick Sermons second album is pretty damn great to listen to. I don't expect everyone to agree but add the first 4 EPMD records and I'm making a case for him.
