We all know the sad path Xzibit took from being a top 10 MC to an afterthought

What did him in?

Pimp My Ride- Over exposure on tv, lost his hard core rapper aura, came across as goofy. Essentially became the rap Ray J

Pimp Slapped- The west coast affiliation that blew him up blew up in his face when Uncle Snoop publicly checked him

What did snoop say?

I think xzibit overachieved anyway. He's still one of the best spitters out of the west, but his style never seemed to be fit for commercial success. He had already made most of his best music before the fame, I think pimp my ride extended his career not fukked it up.

It was the lack of a hit/good album

Or maybe it was because he's xzibit. He wasn't meant to be a top name :yeshrug:

It was Pimp slapp'd, like I said in the other thread he went hard at lil ass JD a producer, cause he said he was the best in his category, like he's supposed to say otherwise. He tried to act like he was a street person and that's who X never was, and Suge pressed him, and he got all hypocritical saying he just did songs with Dre exposing the bytch in him, Snoop simply closed the casket and C walked on top of it

Mostly only backpackers were messing with X back in the day, Snoop brought him to the limelight, without that Crip cosign he was done, since he wanted to be all C walking around the Restless era, Snoop said he wasn't a gangster or crip, then he got his shyt busted then it was a wrap..........

Pimp my ride was simply a brotha getting a check, Snoop exposed the bytch in X to the world, or at least to half of the snoop fanbase that flocked over to X who should have been the next line in on the west

:russ: at them nikkas dissing eachother on this track, Snoop was going at his neck on this verse also, funny how the X version wasn't released as the single

I think you're reachin' with that Snoop song, I mean "Pimp Slapped" really wasn't a nationwide hit to make that much of an impact, shyt was forgotten in a couple of weeks. It was a little dent, nothing more.

If anything fukked Xzibit's RAP career, is the fact that Dre moved on and didn't gave him the same type of beats as he did on "Restless". Without a Dre co-sign, the albums got lacklustre and average, while X, who was never some super type of lyricist focused more on his acting/Pimp My Ride.

Hearing "The Streets", damn I miss Nate Dogg's voice in this rap industry today :to:

But with all being said, I always liked X - he had the voice, charisma and a good flow :salute:
