im on season 4 and it hasnt yet. shyt just gets crazier
Yep. 5 and 6 are pretty much
and the writing gets pretty sloppy. i actually liked season 7, but 8 was 
. if you get that far its worth watching just to finish up but jesus what an anticlimatic final season for a show that started so great.

I am on season 3 now and it has not fallen off yet. season 2 was some good drama as well. I see why people were into this show but Dexter is one crazy mofo.

a lot of people seem to think it was after the trinity killer season (I can't remember which season that is)
but I think it really goes in the toilet after the end of season 6, which is the one with colin hanks (tom hanks son).
I thought season 8 was ok, but the finale of the series was absolute

deb gets shot, goes in a coma. dexter comes in the hospital in the midst of a hurricane euthanizes her, walks her corpse to his boat which happens to be parked next to the hospital. then he sails into a hurricane, throws deb's body into the sea, and we are led to believe he is killed. on the news they say his boat is destroyed and he is dead. also, dexter leaves his 4 year old son harrison in the care of hannah his girlfriend who is a serial killer herself somewhere in south america. then dexter goes somewhere 
and is shown living in a log cabin with a beard as a lumberjack.

final season was garbage in my opinion. didn't end right how it should've. the season after trinity was the last semidecent season.
