I just read an article about a woman who claimed rape to avoid embarrasement from her friends, the guy served 4 years before being exonerated........

For lying she recieved a sentence of 1-3 years (of which she will probably only do half).........

is this fair?

It might sound harsh to some, but they should get a sentence comparable to someone who did the crime. It makes me sick to my stomach to hear those women lie about a "black" man raping them just to avoid the truth.

Paternity situations? Back pay for any child support plus interest, plus $$ for emotional damage/distress. I won't say jail time because the last thing the child needs is for his/her parent to be in jail. So maybe counseling for the issues she had that led her to lie and sleep around in the first place.

They should be tied down to a cell in the prison that the male had to or would have had to serve in for 24 hours. During that time the male prisoners should be allowed to run a marathon train on her. That way she wont be a liar, and she'll get a taste of what that man had to suffer or would've had to suffer.

Some jackass shyt. Put her in a barrel filled with human poo and roll her down a very long hill. But before she goes she has to say on camera she lied about the rape, it has to be televised.

IMO, there should be a civil *and* a criminal component.

She should pay back a "fair-wage" amount based on his time in prison, plus interest.
She should also go to jail for as long as he did.

i think the sentence is fair because if the dude has any sense there will be a civil action taken against the chick and that's really where he get's his pay back. thinking about how she's in a cell won't feed my potentially homeless 'ex-con' ass but a monthly payment will. also, hate that he had to be an example, but you should always thinking twice about who you're gettin it on with. i don't really know the facts though. link?
