Producers in Hip Hop do much more than make a beat especially depending on the artist you are working with. It's the difference between getting creating a masterpiece and just making a record. Producers guide the process from start to finish where a beat maker's job starts and ends with handing in a beat or simply making the beat. Producers don't necessarily have to be hands on. With Dre, Dre starts with a drum track and has musicians add to the skeleton according to Scott Storch. From there he builds the song deciding how the vocals should sound. In Busta 's case, I think Dre already had a concept for "Legend of the Fall Offs".
Oh I know, I was just speaking on what they do for the most part.
The same way Mel-Man got co producer credit on The Chronic 2001, Daz should've gotten that on Doggystyle.
Cause I've heard Daz did a lot more work than he got credit for and just got paid for it instead of getting more credit.
Adding a couple or a few things to a song and mixing it after someone else has already basically produced it and then taking full credit for it ain't right.
Again, Daz should've at least gotten co producer credit for the work he did on the album.
