At a storied program. He has the big name yet he keeps putting out average squads.
He's got some abnormal fear of 1 and Doners even though he's really never been burned hard by one before.

He thinks he can build a team before he sees it like Coach K but Roy doesn't have the foresight or the patience for it. Honestly, I can't wait for this dude to go. Its just so hard to replace a coach like Roy without it looking terrible. Really hoping Ainge loses his patience with Brad Stevens and we're able to scoop him up.

Wow both of these posts are dumb as fukk.
Educate me. :leostare:

UNC recruits itself - as evidenced by Matt Doherty's simple ass. Roy's recruiting hasn't even been moderately impressive since Lawson - HB was nice, but as a whole, his classes have been remarkably mediocre compared to the other top tier colleges. Then we he actually gets to the game, he does stupid stuff allllllll the time. The guy is either forgetting to use timeouts for months of the season or forcefeeding bigs who'd never get the ball on a mid-major. Then there's Roy's female tendencies - all UNC followers remember when we had that terrible season with Turnover Jesus running the point? What was Roy doing? Quitting on the team in front of the media. "I've done all I can do" :dahell: You're the coach and you recruited these guys. Dude treated that whole year like a scorned woman treats a texted breakup.

We can't get rid of him because it just looks bad. Yeah, we won titles with the guy but if Ben Howland can get the :camby:then so should Roy.

I'm not going to argue with you because you sound like a whiny ass little bytch who's mind is made up. I don't think that Roy is a perfect coach by any means but if Marshall doesn't break his hand before the tourney he probably has 3 ships in 11-12 years at the school.

I can't stand Roy, but his problem has never been recruiting. He has brought in plenty of talent, he just hasn't had one of those transcendent talents in a minute. Kentucky kind of cornered that market, and the other major problems have had to figure out how to adjust. Coach K has definitely made it look worse by landing so many beastly players (Kyrie, Jabari, the Pg and C he has coming in this year).

Can't blame Roy for HB not panning out - he was expected to wet the world on fire, and he just wasn't that good. And as much as I find fault with Roy's coaching at times, he has put together a few really enjoyable, talented squads that were done in by bad luck and injuries. They would've been a Final Four threat with PJ playing this year; a legit threat to win the championship if KB hadn't been hurt during that other run. McAdoo played through a fukked up back, which stunted his development. If the NBA goes through with its bullshyt plan to extend the age requirement, Roy will have an easier time landing a transcendent player. Also, he got a couple really good players this year. JJ will be a problem.

The class they landed for 2014 is really good. I think Pinson is a future pro. If Roy can get Giles in NC to stay home in 2016 that'll be a big boost for him. He just needs that one & done talent to go through and endorse the program and the next wave of players will follow.

The recruiting isn't the problem for me. We will always get players no matter who the coach is but with Roy I hate his in-game decision making/adjustments/stubbornness at times (Not calling obvious timeouts, taking forever to play small ball a couple years ago, playing Bum.. I mean Drew Jr before finally playing KB. List goes on )
