Question is simple. Did it benefit the older players who are now able to extend their career due to less physicality? Did it benefit the unathletic (but talented) players who aren’t demanded to play defense because scoring is that much easier? Did it benefit the 3pt shooters who get the freedom to jack up 10+ 3s per game?

Players that lack foot-speed and strength

I forgot the old school hall of famer who said this, but you used to be able to hand check with 2 hands. No way players would be having multiple 40 point games a season if those rules still existed

But the coli told us hand checking was a myth and did nothing to stop players back then. They were just slow unatheltic plumbers

I think the thought is hand checking wouldn’t do much in todays league where the avg players is much more skilled

Probably three point shooters I would guess, older dudes I don’t see it being that much of an effect on them, unathletic players I would say it benefited them a lot, they went from role players/bench players to number 1 options now on the offensive end depending on how offensively skilled they were

this man was a 29 ppg scorer in high efficiency with all that physical play and hand checking. He probably makes the HOF if he didn’t have a back injury. He was slow footed and not athletic.
