Exactly 10 years ago, I was a senior in high school, memorable time.....Luda was coming back out, and that 'Stand Up' was on the radio 24/7, everyone was waiting on Jay, 'The Black Album', the first of two Pac albums produced by Em were getting ready to drop, 'Runnin' was some shyt I loved back then, and still do to some degree....'One Day At A Time' too.

'Beg For Mercy', was probably the hottest at the time, I think the album dropped in November? 'Stunt 101' was pretty popular, along with 'Change Clothes', Obie Trice and Bleek were later in the year....That Outlast/SpeakerBoxx was heavy too, those singles were all over the radio....'Hey Ya' was one of those tracks I'd always hear the morning after drinking all night, rolling up a blunt in the car at like 10:00 AM...a feel good track that was good in the background..

50's album was still in some cd players, State Prop was coming off summer, there were some loose tracks from guys like Ali Vegas, 'If I', with the Slick Rick flow and an ill vocal sample on the hook....

Right, I remember Santana, but mostly in summer, right? 'Diplomatic Immunity' was definitive for that Spring, I guess it was right there with 50's album, and all the G-Unit/Shady/Interscope shyt....Obie Trice album had that 'Bodyguard' track, which along with the other disses to Ja and Murda Inc, were in heavy rotation all summer...'Shot Down' was another track, DMX, Styles P, and 50 talking reckless over a raw Dame Grease beat, all the Banks shyt too, like his freestyle over 'Squeeze First', and 'Runnin', those were all right there too. I would pay like 1k for all my old mix cd's, I'm sure I have almost every track on my computer, but theres a few I'll probably never remember.

I never even heard that album, but 'Stand Up', with the Kanye beat was all over radio, Halloween 2003, I must have heard that song 20x. I forgot about Joe Budden, and Mobb Deep had that Free Agents, I remember the summer better, it's fall where it gets somewhat blurry....oh, on the subject of Ja and Irv, I remember 'Blood In My Eye' from this time too, 'Change Gon Come', (with original Sam Cooke sample) was pretty raw, and 'The Wrap', 'Clap Back', 'The Crown', Ja had some tracks on that, with Fatal Hussein for some reason...

Lloyd Banks had some shyt around then, a freestyle with Buck on the radio, and 'Muthafukkin Star', over 'Runnin', he was going at Budden around that time...'No Peace Talks'...No one could get enough of 'I Smell p*ssy' either, even though that was old...that was like THE girl/bytch song, that you had to hear 30 times a night and shyt..
