I hate to point it out cause Stretch was a dope beat maker regardless but he didn't do the Pain beat. It was actually K-Low, the 3rd member of the Live Squad. The story is that Pac and Stretch needed a beat for the ATR soundtrack ASAP so K-Low whipped it up and Fedex'ed it to them. Or something like that. There used to be a video of K-Low talking about it on youtube, it might still be on there.
