people's idea of "brainrot" nowadays is stuff like skibidi toilet and gen alpha slang like "rizz" or "gyatt"

what do you think was the equivalent of "brainrot" from previous decades like the 90's or 2000's? or is there nothing comparable to what we have rotting our brains today?

I would say trash TV like Jerry Springfield and Maury Povich was the 90's kid equivalent of brainrot in the 2000's, probably something like Jackass

Ppl didn't really complain all that much about it though cuz we touched grass for fun. Nowadays we all drone in front of the screen for 4 hrs a day for fun.

People like to romance the 90s like it was a magnum opus of society, but forget the same shyt we were bytching about in modern time, was just as bad as it was in the 90s.

Hell you had folks joining cults, watching action movies with no substance, and staring hours on end through the satellite cable with a billion channels. The same as it ever was, with a smartphone holder doomscrolling through Coli babble and Reddit cac tears.
