You know It’s All Good was made around the same time as The World is Yours was? In fact most of that album was deliberately comprised of old SP1200 beats from the late 90’s early 2000’s. If you talking about “classic” beats you are probably talking 15-20 years ago although he been making good music til now.

Mos def this one. I have a over 1000 vinyl records, mostly east coast boom bap 12 inch underground independent labels singles, very few major labels (< 1%). I decided to do 90 min TDK cassette tapes the old school way with what I consider the best by year starting 1999 up to 2009. After I created the list By year, Quickly the producer with the most heat from 99 to 2004 was Alchemist. Think of all the QB joints. Premier had a few joints early 2000, but his output on that format(single 12-inch vinyl not mixtape/album CDs) picked up from 2005 (ex AZ-the come up, format, Cormega-Dirty Game.In total, almost equal between ALC and Primo. Pete Rock had very few dope productions that I bought, but he produced my favourite song of 2001 The UN-Nothing lesser. He then did excellent production for the UN between 2003-2004 and the 914 by the Lox and How we roll with Jim and Max B around 2007. Other producers that had much better output in the 90s but very few tracks between 99-2009 I put in the mixes: Lord Finesse, Buckwild, Showbiz. RZA seems to be a special case as he doesn’t really do production for Indy artists outside his circle. This little exercise covering 99-2009 cemented Primo and ALC as Goats east coast beatsmiths for me and they had even more output between 2010-2022 leaping over competitors.

He had some dope beats on the Skyzoo album, and the Benny project. But given how often he recycles who knows if they're truly new. The QB Politics beat was done in the early 90s.
