game mechanics are really weird
the camera angle is basura (2k angle > everything else)
also shot clock cheese, balls go in like 90% of the time

did ea really think this was a good idea :comeon:

what shot clock cheese are you talking about? and what do you mean the ball gos in 90% of the time? with who? and who are you defended by or at all? are you wide open?

see i play both. i do not like how 2k manufacturers realistic stats by MAKING you brick open layups, dunks, and 3's. i said OPEN. not contested. if you go on a hot streak ONE GAME, they'll make darn sure you you go on a cold one in the next 2 games to make your fg% balance out. that to me is wack. because if i'm releasing the ball darn near the same way. it should go in more often than not. The reason people go on cold streaks in real life is not just cause. there's reasons. fatigue(long season), means you dont jump at the same height as you did early in the season, at least not on each jumper. which will change your release point. this should be how they do it in 2k. and yes its doable. in addition guys stop doing all the fundamental things they were doing before. you dont miss a jumpshot when you did everything identical to what you did the last time the shot went in. thats not how it works. if you did it the same it will go in every single time the same way. thats a fact of physics. so that means you changed something(elbow slipped out, your palm was on the ball vs your finger tips, etc, etc. you can simulate this in a game with how a person releases that shot button/shot stick due to fatigue when playing in season modes(or mycareer). same during the game if the person is a lot more tired later in the game you will have to adjust that shot release point and notice the difference. that will take a moment to figure out. while you figure it out you will probably brick a few. thats realistic. not this fake crap where they literally make you blow layups and dunks and brick open jumpers. so someone can say my box score reads like a real game.

You're the first person in history to defend these recent NBA Lives. Are you getting paid or what, breh? I've been playing 2K since "2K" with Iverson on the cover and Live even before then...there is nothing positive about Live anymore. It's done

i dont care if i'm the first or the last. i know basketball. i didnt say live was right. it aint. it has a lot of work to do. period. but i do see some things they do have right that 2k still fails at. i need for these fools to merge and get it over with already.

most people mimic what everyone else has said. they didnt even play the game. but they watched a video and they saw a bunch of joke tweets about live or 2k and they repeat that over and over again.

when people were talking about how great live 10 was, i was like NOPE. needs a ton of work. i saw then that they were messing up the animations or i should say the transitional animations. going from running to dunking. or running to passing, or running to catching a pass. etc. they still have some of these issues with transitional animations. dont know why. well i have an idea. but not sure thats why.

so no i aint all in love with live

Even those arguments weren't valid. If the shot percentage shyt he was talking about was true then I'd be pissed too, but that's not that case. Of course the game ain't perfect but it's close enough

Philly (BYRD GANG)
Game is not that bad graphically the court and crowd is the best on the market. The game sucks against the CPU but is fun as hell when I play against my son and nephew. Cool game not worth 60 bucks though.

I got live and it isn't a bad game. It's the best live since live 10. However it still has some issues that need to be addressed

1. You can't play defense on this game for shyt and the CPU will exploit that all game. Even when you hold R2 the man never get's into a defense stance and every tap of the L stick and they slide like michael jackson

2. Rising star is ok but you can't sub, or make defensive adjustments and the AI is retarded. They will play bench players with minutes left in close games when the game is on the line.

3. Animations are a little quirky, the only way to stop someone from dunking or laying it up is when you get that contact animation on them,

#1 you can play defense. you really have to know how to back up on certain dudes and shade. otherwise its a blow by. what i like about that is, its realistic. a nba player would torch any one of us playing all up on them like we do on these games. you think because that works in 2k it should work in live. not true. thats another issue. live is not 2k and 2k aint live. there is some realism in both games and some fake nonsense in both(2k does a much better job of covering up their fake nonsense with pretty animations, but its still fake nonsense).

#2. that wack subbing or not subbing or playing wack guys during crunch time. is something live needs to fix ASAP. but that goes in the same section as them patching the fact that teams wouldnt act like they knew when the game was on the line late in the 4th. i heard a patch came out for the ps4 last week and the xbox this week. so it may have addressed some of these issues(I HOPE).

#3. YEP on the quirky animations. you can stop someone from dunking or laying it up by blocking it. that timing has to be right though. i've done it in pro am on the demo even a few times. but you are correct with the contact. but thats realistic to some degree. i just saw Bennett Smash on Robert Uphsaw last night (toronto vs the lakers). how? because upshaw didnt step up at the right angle. he was there. but not in the right spot. YAMMM. looked bad too. lol. but if it happened in live people would say its fake because thats not how it works in 2k. they allow you to block or tip a lot of shots.

i think these games make a choice. (should i reward a video game player for the attempt to make it FUN or should i make it realistic). realistic isnt always fun to casuals. to me it would be great because i actually KNOW the game of basketball and love it for what it is. and i like both sides of the ball not just dunks and 3's. but most people are not like me. which is why if i was rolling in the doe i would create a game to my liking where its 100%sim ball or at least 99.5% lol. all the cry babies could go play 2k or live.

its not close enough. not at all. there's real holes in both games. again 2k does a much better job of patching said holes with pretty animations. so it LOOKS nice but you are not in control as much as you think you are.

Exhibit A:
The pump fake Foul and throw up the shot animation. yall do know you're never in control of that shot no matter what you think right? not just sometimes. NEVER. it's scripted animations. you up fake and they want you to do a nice little shot after the foul they will force that animation. if you dont believe me. Try moving the stick in a different direction once the animation starts and lets see what happens. lol. but it looks LEGIT. thats what 2k is good at. making the fake stuff look REAL.

but that tells me they have not figured out how to make it so that i personally can up fake get landed on by the defender and still shoot if i choose to or pass(and not get a shooting foul) if i choose to. this tells me the moment i go up fake and the guy jumps. its a 2 player pre setup animation about to trigger. its not LIVE using real physics.
