What was up with 2000’s R&B singers using the same beat over different songs?

Jagged Edge remade Lets Get Married throughout a whole album:

If there's still meat on the bones, why throw it away when you can make greens with that bih?

Love JE and Heartbreak is one of my favorite R&B albums of all time, along with My Way

but if you start shining a light on any of the lyrics from the R&B 90's tracks, you will find the same thing as dude was saying about just freestyling it lol

Not really, its just physiological people tend to gravitate to what they know...also memories are connected to a familiar melody's.
it has nothing to do with double dipping...why you think its so easy to sell on just nostalgia
nostalgia and buisness have nothing to do with eachother

when you listen to a radio or go to Macy's and hear music... its not for nostalgia
the company pays money to play their shyt

once you go to Home Depot and hear backstreet boys and "nostalgia" songs
it will target people who shop, but its paid for and also a way to boost those numbers
when they say "Backstreet Boys 5x platinum album" in 2025, its not because people still love it
its because they are pumping numbers in every store across the US for decades. They arent doing it to help the store out, the artist doesnt get paid on the back end and the company milks the 30 years of streams and radio plays

Disney is the best example of this.... none of those nikkas signed to disney own their "original" music
They can take Christina Aguilera's entire career and lease it out to a young disney star... they own it, she doesnt have shyt
they can redo Britney Spears songs with a young artist in 2099
