What was Valetine's Day like in grade school for you?

Making hearts out of construction paper. Valetine day party. I remember hoping to get a card from at least one pretty girl. But always the light skinned, curly head dude would get the most cards and pink candy hearts. I remember one time I gave a Valetine day card to this one fat girl because she would never get anything. My mama told me to be nice to her because she would always cry and said nobody liked her. This was like 4th grade and she was so happy. Then of course we used to have a dance in our school basement. What was it like for yall?

Back then I used to get those boxes of cards made by specific cartoon franchises.

Gave the largest to the teacher (if I ain't like her that year she didn't get shyt )

The second largest went to the boy I liked then

Then my squad would just bless each other with cards and candy. The kids in the class with the white moms in the PTA would give us those big cookies with the different colour candy hearts

Then the Valentine's Day dance. The potential hoes who would change into mini skirts they snuck into their backpacks the morning of and fast boys would be in the corner grinding on each other (mind you this is like grade 5 and 6) when the teacher supervisor wasn't around.

I never danced though, I would be in the cut with the squad head nodding to the tunes or just talking

Now this holiday is damn near nonexistent
