what was your reaction and thoughts when u first heard ETHER

Not sure it's the GOAT, but it's def. in the top 5 discussion (up there with Hit Em Up, Long Kiss Goodnight, No Vaseline, Real Muthaphukkin Gs, fukk Wit Dre Day, among others).
to the "Eminem murdered you on your own shyt" line. That and the "36 in a karate class, you tae bo hoe"
There's been a lot of dope and scathing hip hop diss tracks before but I say Ether is the greatest because:
1) It was the marking of the "resurrection" of hip hops greatest MC of all time
2) It was aimed at easily one of hip hop greatest artists and it hurt him. Bad. Jay's personality changed after Ether. We can blame Blueprint 2 on Ether. Anytime Jay gets on one of his insecure rants telling us how much money he has and how great he is, we can blame that on Ether too. That Ether hurt him. I don't think any other diss track hurt it's intended target like Ether did Jay.
1). Agreed on Nas' resurrection. I thought he was
status...and then he told Jay to ask Kiss.

2. Ether def. gets that credibility for heavyweight going at heavyweight. The other tracks I listed has that as well. Based on damage done, I'd prob. put Ether ahead of Real Muthaphukkin' Gs and fukk Wit Dre Day since they were good disses, but didn't really slow down what Dre or Eazy were doing at the time. Hit Em Up spawned a coastal beef, so I think it still wins on impact alone, even if it wasn't as witty as Ether.
