It's violent and no matter your size, height, body type, athletic ability, there's a position for you. In that, it trumped by speaking to everyone and not necessarily being a skilled sport or sport with a prerequisite.

And as for the question. they have to pass the MLB first before touching the NFL. NBA is popular nationwide and gets excellent national ratings due to the superstars. MLB, NFL, NHL complete opposite, its all about the teams. Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Brooklyn Nets , Hornets, Suns etc teams like that have horrible ratings locally because they suck and have no recognizable superstars. MLB kills NBA when it comes to city/local ratings.

They cant...people can casually follow the nfl and be up on it because it's one game a week....and because of this schedule the gambling and FF aspect of it are huge. 50 year old housewives are paying attention one day a week because of their fantasy teams.
