But I’m not a fan of eliminating a species like that, because of the whole circle of life thing. All this stuff is connected; and we might fck around and destroy the environment.
Ecology is complex.
I’m certain that the predators that eat mosquitos would be over represented in eating another bug that is essential for life. Once that bug gets decimated another bug would be decimated and so on. Eventually some species of consequence to humans will be affected.
This also says nothing about the animals that get displaced in this process because their preferred meal was stolen by newly minted competition. And let’s not forget how the absense of mosquitoes may embolden other blood sucking bugs and augment their numbers to the point that humans have a new threat.
