This is a good question. And I find it funny that these redneck southern whites always harp about wanting the Confederacy back. What they don't know is that if the Confederacy would have won, the whole south would have turned into a 3rd world country. True story. The south was already feeling the effects of poverty before the civil war. Those redneck whites would have nothing but the clothes on their back and their situation would be far worse than the situation before the civil war due to no longer being apart of the Union. Only 1% of the population had wealth in the south back then. The rest barely got by. The major source of income was cotton and they had no industry, without slaves, no industry and dependent on one crop, the south would have collapsed economical
Slavery was not on the decline. Hell Cuba(which can explain why Cuba has been so anti-American) was the next target for the south for turning it into another slave state, as was spreading slavery with every new territory opening up in the west. You cannot build a country,or a society on oppression. It corrupts all around it. That literally where the south was going. The south if it had one would have been what the 1% of America dreamed of. A tiny wealthy population controlling everyone. Hell the 1% wants America to go the Confederacy way.
I think Eastern Europe is a good idea of what the south would look like in modern day terms. Oppression. Wars. Dictators, Corruption. Poverty. Outdated
technology.
Though I think the slaves would have been freed. Eventually... But lets just say blacks would be under a suppression much worse than Jim Crow or South Africa Apartheid. Think Palestine!
