Eli has been in the league for 10 years and has only played his brother 2-3 times, NFL is still the league with the best setup.
I mean just cause Lebron and Kobe has played vs each other 30 times, doesn't make NBA a better league setup. And in this comparison, soccer is more like college ball than pro ball. If you live in Spain, England or Italy you think about half the league are good teams (you know about all the players in these top 10 teams) and the other half bad teams that will have to fight to stay on the big stage. You can't do a season like The Nets did without any consequences, you can't be shyt for years like The Clipper without getting left in the bushes.
If "Durant" and "LeBron" are the best players in soccer, they will most likely go to the best teams and will both play in the champions league.
I don't think you can mention 5 top players in soccer in their 30s who haven't played each other as many times as the Mannings have played each other.
This type of league wouldn't work, cause there's like 200 Mark Curry's in football. About 7 LeBrons, about 10 Dwight Howard's from 100 different countries. 4-5 leagues are needed for all these players to compete and the best of these guys will be in the champions league. A lot of people strictly watch the champions league and the big games in the local leagues.
NFL - 16 game season
Soccer - about 40 game season
Your Manning comparison doesnt hold up there. Plus the league isnt set up for only 16 games because its the best way to go about it......its because if you tried to have 40 games everyone would be injured.
If you have 100 NBA teams you gonna think there are more superstars than there actually are because the competition is watered down. nikkas would be calling JR Rider an all time legend.
Consolidate them Euro teams down to about 30-40 then put all them other squads in division 2 or something. Somewhere for the Trajan Langdon's of soccer to play for the local team. Thats when i would watch.
