Too many non serving Americans in politics. The closest we would get is a puppet President.
Using a French example as precedent for America is kind of lazy. France has a revolutionary tradition (they’re currently on their 5th republic since 1789) and in the 50’s weren’t even a decade removed from the Vichy government. It’s telling that there isn’t even an English equivalent for the word coup.
Overthrow? Deposition?
What do you think it says about English speaking society though? Is it possible that in your statement is a testament to English stability?
I dont think that it has measurable implications so much as perceived cultural ones.
English borrows a lot from French, though, so it's probably explained that easily.
