I want to ask an honest question. If a government promised major material improvements -- better housing, healthcare, jobs, etc. -- would strict authoritarian control be acceptable to you? I'm talking about a genuinely authoritarian or totalitarian system, nothing like we currently live under.

Only way I would accept a dictatorship is if 1, quality life improved, 2, it was benevolent, 3, there were elections and leader abided by a term limit and peacefully stepped down, but I know that last part is not really a tenet of authoritarianism.

Those things dont even go together........

Man is by nature corrupt........

If a man isn't corrupt, his fellow man will kill him because he isn't corrupt........

Even being good natured and good intentioned isn't enough to secure stability because there is always a force looking to destabilize.........

Man dont even need a real reason either..........no amount of stability will change the nature of man
