truck used to swing by every evening during the sweltering summers in Miami. I lived on a dead end street so it would make a u-turn at the end of the block, so I had just enough time to run inside and grab whatever loose change I could find laying around. WWF ice cream bars, strawberry shortcakes, Italian ices, TMNT ice cream bars (eyes were gumballs), hot cheese popcorn, hot sausage etc

I remember it was some old Pakistani guy who was the ice cream man in my old hood for years, comes around every now and then around Memorial Day or when they having block parties

The Indian family a couple houses down from me still has an ice cream truck. They're still around.

They're still here in NYC. They start to come out around late march/early April. Now what I don't see much of anymore is the ladies who pushed around the Marino's italian carts or the guys who made snow cones with the huge block of ice in a shopping cart.

Those are everywhere.

But yeah ice cream trucks are a regular sight in the summer Mr. Softee.
