Hello,

My Wifi sucks and i will either hire a professional company to do some data management like drilling holes at the pad and just use ethernet cables. I thought about Powerline adapters, and then i learned about MoCa. Not too sure which one is the best but I have read that people do end up getting problems or the connection is not strong enough.

So what you rep and what are your solutions?

I'm not too sure what you're asking but any basic fibre optic broadband enabled wi-fi is good, mayn. They all have the same results.



I'm sure direct ethernet is the best if you don't mind a few cables but any wi-fi will make your home look cleaner and less like a man cave.

I'm trying to do away with as much cables as possible now.

From doing my Googles, mesh routers seem to be the next wave but I'd hold off until the tech becomes more mass produced because at the minute the average price in almost £200 quid. That is unnecessary when all it is doing is simply boosting the signal which you can do yourself by moving closer or buying another cheap good router.

Don't waste your money. Get whichever one fits your budget and needs.

Mesh seems like the latest but you are right that it costs too much. I was thinking of using MoCa but i am too sure if i can use a splitter for television cable. I am trying to make my tv cable modems obsolete and just use IPTV / Android Boxes so i need direct connection.

I will find out if i can boost the Wifi Signals around the home. there should be hacks

I get by with just 60 mbps just fine on fibre optic broadband, that should be you first concern which is making sure you have a steady connection.

Also, just look at it this way, it is a luxury item like a gaming console, TV or car ect so you will only buy the MOCA router once. If you need a big signal then just spurge on it if it meets your needs. It's not like you'll be spending that £200 every year on a new router is it. I've only brought a new router once in my life and that's when I first moved house and it was the cheapest one I could find as they all do the same job.

I'm sure you have a day job with exposable income so just buy it.

But if I were you I wouldn't worry about it.

I can also perhaps install COAX in the rooms that do not have it for direct connect.

But yes, buying like 3-4 MOCA will cost a lot like maybe 300-400 bucks but it is much better than hiring a electrician or some data management company

It sounds like a lot of work to do for a newbie and you'll get what you pay for to be honest. I'd only go the 'Tim Allen's Home Improvement' route if that was my field of expertise.

If I were you I'd just spend the dosh one time to get it done professionally and you'll av peace of mind that way.

Treat it as a luxury and do your research and get it done professionally is my opinion otherwise just stick with what you've got and get fibre optic broadband for a basic wireless router.

Get it done professionally coz that sounds like a lot of work, mate. You need to make sure there's nothing in between your walls before you start drilling too. That alone would make me shook and I know nothing about DIY.

You will only do this once, fukk it. Get it done the way you'd like and leave it as that.
