So I was talking with some friends of mine today who for some reason (probably because I think I'm the only person of African origin they know?) asked me what I thought about the whole KONY 2012 BS. I then realized this thing appeared and thankfully disappeared. Did it just like, totally crash? I know they did a second video but didn't care to watch it...Anyone in the US can tell me if it's still a story? Whatever happened to that creepy dude and the whole Invisible Children...did ANY posters appear anywhere:russ:

Didn't one of the directors get arrested for running ass naked and spanking his monkey in public?

Yea Jason Russell was detained not arrested for public nudity yelling and screaming at traffic and there may have been some masturbation involved.

Invisible Children and Jason Russell were exposed for the frauds they were. I did see a few posters around my area, but nothing like the movement they thought they were going to get. Al Jazeera did a whole report on how angry they people in Uganda became after they showed them the KONY 2012 video.

Yeah that's like the last thing I saw about this whole bs campaign.

It's amazing that something could blow up as fast as that first documentary and be all but forgotten a couple months later. I think that says a lot about our society. Glad they got exposed, and I hope people will take some more time next time before blindly following a "movement".

It's a shame. I remember when we first watched most of the footage included in this viral video (so where did all the production money go?). I still had it on my old harddrive. All this B.S. did was give people compassion fatigue and make them more cynical.

Just like anything else the Twitterverse/Internet decides it's on that week, it eventually fades away like it never happened without anybody actually doing or committing to doing besides making it a hashtag.

People nowadays have the attention span of goldfish. Nothing matters anymore. Is the Japan nuclear problem fixed? Is Haiti cleaned up? Is there still a patriot act? :yeshrug:

Does George Bush really like black people? :ld:
