Unrealistic for a majority of the population. Average funeral is around 7k if not more so someone making 35k a year should have 14k stashed away in case someone dies? The adult thing to do is to have every loved one on a life insurance policy.

Alright I do have a couple grand. I still feel like that's not that much. I got a fat direct deposit that drops every Thursday and an indemand job that makes me almost indispensable though.

That should also be in a cash savings. Not money invested or lent out.
