ive been cashing my checks at a liquor store since I graduated high school. some jobs also had checks that I could cash at certain banks for free

Banks only suck if you spend more money than you actually have. You can get free checking and savings anywhere. Just make sure it's a national chain. I don't trust them locals. Too many back closures happened with them. You just need something basic. Don't know much about credit unions myself.

24hr Overdraft grace period, most ATM's accept cash/checks directly till 11:59pm and puts in your account that day. Mobile app is very nice.

Not all are welcome at most around area without being invited to join.

Another poster said exactly what is the truth. All banks have free accounts as long as you don't overdraft. Go to one that has a lot of locations because ATM fees kill you if you go to other banks...

Just educate yourself to make sure your in the right account based on your needs...
