I just got the Logitech Harmony Hub. I bought one used on eBay for $53. I have it paired to my Harmony Touch but it also pairs to Android and iOS phones. The Harmony remote works through RF to the Hub and the Hub sends signals to the devices using IR. The phones send signals to the Hub over WiFi and then the Hub sends the IR to the phone.

It's nice to be walking up to the door and when my phone hops on my WiFi I can open the app and press a single button and my TV and soundbar turn on and goes to the correct input for either my Tivo or PC with no line of sight required. If you buy the Hub in a store it's $100 though.
