What do you call a person that thinks they're right all time and hates to be wrong?

My best friend is cool and all but i noticed that anytime i try to correct him or help him out with something he'd make it seem as if i as the one who's wrong :wtf:.

We could be playing co-op online and i would tell him that he's going the wrong way and some how he'll still find a way to say that i'm the one who's wrong :why:. What's worse is when he hears a rumor and tell people about it as it's a fact then when proven wrong he would be like "nah, i knew that" :why:.

What is the word for this type of mindset?

Depends on their M.O. There are a couple words.
Egocentric. Conceited. Sanctimonious. Smug.

But before you use any of these words, double-check the definition to make sure it fits.

:laff:

On a different note, someone who always claims to be right or always thinks he's right could be called a know it all.

I have a auntie who is like that. She hates being wrong and it's to a point where she knows she going to be wrong and then she self correct herself in the midst of the conversation; to be right.

One day I went to visit my aunt and she was boiling eggs on a hotplate; that was sitting on top of a deep fryer. I said auntie that's not safe because it's unbalanced; you should not sit that on top of a deep fryer, place it on a flat surface.

My auntie look at me and back at the boiling glass pot sitting on top of the deep fryer and looked back at me; because she was trying to think of a comeback so she would not be wrong. So she got mad and said "we'll I just jave to wait until the water is not hot to take the eggs off."

People like you friend and my auntie are insecure about being wrong; because to them it's an insult to their intelligence, but really is just a lack of common sense.
