Whats more important: Reps or Daps

I'm a little torn right now looking at my stats..on one hand i feel like im looked at as a good poster cuz my post to dap ratio is

But then i feel like im looked at as an average poster looking at my rep

Im thinking dapping might hold more weight because it takes a lot less time and more convenient

But i feel people dont take the time to rep anymore so its probably not as important as it use to be

i mean...message boards are a narrow and specialized form of social interaction
but it is still social interaction
in real life we don't usually keep talking if no one is listening
likewise, we don't repeat an optional activity unless someone "cares"

that said, there are 100 ways to approach a message board
some people value "connecting" (making friends)
others are more about performance
or you can be provocative, learning, teaching, whatever

usually the "best" (=most appropriate) approach is suggested by the format of the message board
but thecoli is general purpose
so it's what you want to make of it

if you're merely an active poster (let's say 500-3000 posts/yr)
it's going to be hard to stand out
because this place has so many "power users"

yet you need some kind of motivation to continue
it can be "internet points", or just a general reaction to your involvement
it really depends on your intentions for posting
but you need some kind validation
