We're letting these old farts make decisions for our future, why not try getting involved?

Has anyone hear taken steps to get shyt moving politically? Stories, advice, whatever.

Its not cool enough. See most people like to move in a crowd. Plus we have been conditioned to "let someone else handle that" I have a life to live. We are taught to chase
things that really have no value. Money, women, men, latest trends etc....

People place to much value on life fearing death like its not a place we all go in the end.

I think the best way to get involved is by voting and aligning yourself with the candidate that best represents your ideals...regardless of the party. I would never try to run for office or anything but I try to get as much information on the candidates as possible.

The problem is most people our age are low-information voters so most don't even bother to vote :to:

I agree with the OP, it's basically because my generation don't give a f*ck about anything. It's sad really how we lust after material things yet won't stand up for our future.

People are content with the status quo. Most of us are working our steady jobs and having fun on the weekends. Sounds like a pretty good life. Yes, the country is a mess but since it doesn't affect us directly all we will do is talk to our friends about it and rant on internet forums.

The same way we don't settle for men/women, we shouldn't settle with our politics and representatives.

Anyways, I'm trying to start volunteering for the Liberal Party in my area. Going to events, meeting some of these people and go from there. I really want to make some change, no Obama.

takes a lot of work/time and money and you'd be going against the machine which has a great track record as far as destroying (legally or illegally) it's rivals (MLK, Malcolm X, Huey P, and so on). Not saying this to discourage you. I just think that's part of the reason people say fukk it and would rather "play the game" the way it's always been played...
