I'm in a dillema I just turned 33 and want to know if I should go back to school for It or take some online courses to attain certs. The job i'm at now I work a little bit with SAP not sure how that fairs in todays market.
Whats the best way for IT should I go back to school or online certs?

Without more information the only advice I can say is if school is going to require you to take out a loan, do not do it. Why do you want to get into IT? If it's just for money, just know that like anything else you are going to have to grind to get to the roles that pay you real money.
take a loan out, complete your cert course, and find a job...
ya, you may have to help desk for a bit, but you will for sure have a leg up when it comes to advancing
especially if you don't have the discipline to find the right online course for what you're trying to accomplish and sit through it

No offense but taking a loan out to get a helpdesk job would be foolish. You could take classes at a local community college or self study to get a few certifications for that same position. I'm against taking out loans but if you're going to go that route, at least get a degree out of it.
maybe i misread but i didn't even know you can get a cert for help desk, my thought was more in line with a CCNA or other specialized positions

You can't but you can get basics certs, CCNA included without taking any classes. And even then, community colleges offer CCNA classes, so again, taking out a loan for that would be foolish imo.
tottaly agree with the CC approach, but everyone might not have the 3-5k for those specialized courses.
I wouldn't spend a dime of my own money on a technology degree that will be obsolete in a few years.
And as far as certs goes the study material is free if you know where to look. Just get one major cert in order to get an IT job. Then let your new employer pay for the rest. I've accepted jobs based only on the fact they had a huge training budget. But once the budget got cut I was gone.

I would say during this down time to learn the inner workings of an OS(Windows and Linux if possible) and networking. No matter what area you go into IT, Networking will help you a ton. I would say those are more beneficial than the Security+. Most will disagree with me but I'm a believer of the A+ in that it will lay down a foundation for you. Not saying you need to get the cert but learning the material that is covered in it is a plus.
