About 5K or so. The older I get the more I see how the tax code has all kinds of loopholes for upper-middle class earners. If you get into corporate america, pay attention to what these white people are doing. After Civil Rights, they transitioned from blatant structural racism to burying the cheat codes in the laws. And if they laws don’t allow them to do it, they just wink wink nudge nudge don’t prosecute each other.
Sorry for going off on a tangent, but there was story about how Biden stayed in an AirBnB, turned out the owner lied on his tax forms about it being a primary residence so he could collect the big tax breaks. Saw something else about people buying homes with cash, but they just turn around and borrow against it so the house turns into a low interest loan (I don’t understand how that one works).

Bout $6k but I had a shiesty tax accountant (aka family friend) do them and left me
. So I kept the money stashed (gaining interest) in anticipation of getting a large yellow envelope aka an audit.
Lucky me, envelope came 2 years later and I paid that shyt back with the quicks. Talk about discipline, b.

It also depends on where you live. I make around 95k and got a refund.
When I was living in MD and working in DC for 3 years I owed $1300-$1600.
