my boys house burned down in NC & I got some old furniture I want to ship to him but don't have the time to drive 4 hrs down there.

Are there any other ways of getting around this? :jbhmm:

It would cost way too much.
Best thing for him to do is rent a U-Haul.

It might cost him a few hundred bucks with the mileage but that's better than the few grand he'd likely spend buying all new stuff

I'm guessing if he's a 4 hour drive away...that's gotta be at least 300 miles or so

Yeah, U-Haul's looking like the plan.

Calculate the U-Haul mileage and labor and then figure out if it's cheaper for him to just buy used furniture from somewhere else or go to Rent A Center or Aarons or Ashley Furniture and have him pay per week for some new furniture :yeshrug:

Ok...so if YOU plan on renting the U-Haul, calculate the mileage and see if it would be cheaper to maybe float him the money you would spend on a U-Haul, to buy furniture locally.

I don't know the pricing, but you might be able to get one of those PODS dropped at your place, load it, then have them send it down to him. It might be more expensive than the U Haul but more convenient time-wise.
