Umar has two kids he does not take care of and is constantly getting hauled into court because he does not pay

He admitted that he does not even see his kids and his youngest he had no idea what her middle name was until he was in child support court for not paying

He admitted that he pays his child support in “bulk” Meaning he waits until he is threatened with loss of license/passport before he pays the minimum

The court has been trying for years to determine his income and have been forced to set his child support at minimum wage. The court also ordered that he get a job but he ignores it.

He galavants around the country telling people what to do with their kids but he almost NEVER talks about his kids. Never takes them with him. Never shows them

He admitted that he cannot see his youngest without supervision. So he got mad and refuses to see her

He has made two single mothers and married neither. He did have a mock wedding to two different women tho

He wants the black community to be where the “village” raises the children. He pushes this. This way the responsibility is off of HIM to raise his own seeds. He thinks this is a better model than having a committed relationship and marrying one woman and taking care of your own kids

Umar is not credible in this convo at all

It's a Saturday night and regardless, I'd have a hard time pinning down the clip, but Omowale Afrika broke this down masterfully.

It's malehood vs manhood. There's a difference. Manhood is the development of systems and institutions that women submit to. Malehood just wants get It's dikk wet. That's how you get "Passport Bros"... They're running to lands where manhood has already been established and the expected outcome is present. Malehood masquerading as Manhood. No fortitude to collab and build :hubie:

HE IS RIGHT TO SOME DEGREE. THAT'S THE HARD THING ABOUT RESPONSIBILITY. YOU DON'T GET TO PICK AND CHOOSE WHEN TO BE RESPONSIBLE. IF YOU WANT TO BE A LEADER, THAT'S THE COST.

IT'S NOT OUR JOB TO BE STEP FATHERS TO ALL SINGLE MOTHERS. BUT ITS OUR JOB TO BE ROLE MODELS TO ANY KID IN YOUR VICINITY. ITS AN UGLY JOB SOMETIMES, BUT THATS WHAT MEN DO.

IT DOESN'T COST ANYTHING BUT YOUR TIME.

The community was sabotaged before anyone in that clip and anyone on this board were born. It's a little more complex than "men have to take the lead". Ideally that would be the case, but due to the nature of the threat, and the circumstances on how things came to be this is more of an all hands on deck situation. Umar understands this but won't put any pressure on women because he understands what side his bread is buttered on.

WHAT PRESSURE SHOULD BE APPLIED TO WOMEN ON THIS SUBJECT?

This is not realistic at all and rooted in complete delusion.

Individualistic actions will not fix systemic problems.

Black men have to deal with inflation, rising cost of rent, rising cost of homes, rising cost of tuition, stagnant wages, and also take time out of their 40-60 hour work week to mentor someone else's kids. :dead:

Instead of telling women to stop choosing aint shyt nikkas and having their kids, the responsibility is on the black men that are actually doing what they're supposed to be doing while getting no reward from it lmao....yeah aight :pachaha:

I see what it is. Gotta get those donations... DONATIONS.... DOUGH NATIONS from black women by telling them what they want to hear. :pachaha:

I heard what he said and understood the purpose of community policing of behavior, but fukk all that, I'm doing just what he said: taking my ball and going elsewhere. I grew up in the hood. I literally knew people with the nicknames Pookie and Ray Ray. I remember being in similar circumstances, but making dissimilar choices. I found a feminine woman with no kids who is black, and my goal first and foremost is to enrich the life of her, myself, and the rest of my family. The community can kiss my ass because it wasn’t there for me when times were hard ( and I grew up pretty well considering) and the community might make me a statistic because I look like a lick trying to be Mr. charitable. In theory I get Umars fervor but changing the community starts with changing the adults, and we all know these maladapted adults in the community are not willing or able to put forth the work.

I understand Dr Umar's stance, but I don't believe in putting everything on Black men meaning civilian Black men. There is such a thing as free will!

But, I can agree that Black men and women regardless of their ascribed or achieved status bears responsibility for whatever outcome the collective is seeking.
