What's the difference between lying and betrayal to you?

All of ua have lied or either had a loved one lie to you. But when do you believe the line is crossed into betrayal? Or is there no difference and you take all lies as betrayal. For example, some loved one may get caught lying about where they were last night. But betrayal comes when they steal from you. Or a girl/boy cheats on you. Both are bad to most of us. But when is that line crossed?
