What's the inflection point where a song goes from popular/hit to played out?

i know this is different for different folks, but I'm already feeling like :beli: when I hear "work" while shyt like "jumpman" and "down in the dm" still get me :dj2:

What is it that cuases collective exhaustion of a song when some songs seem to never get played out :jbhmm:

100% matter of opinion

it's impossible to generalize this :yeshrug:

This is probably the best answer. Sometimes songs get long legs for no real reason.

Though to keep the thread going I am going to say usually once it hits the regular radio now. Weird as that sounds by that time it's been listened to in other outlets a ton.

for the radio hits/catchy songs, when the beat gets old/annoying i'll stop listening to it

the lyrical/production master pieces are timeless tho

I think it depends on how much you like the artist.

I can't hear Down in the DM anymore and I love the song

but I dont think I will ever get tired of hearing work or Jumpman

depends on the person honestly

Work been played out to me and I never even heard the entire song. Same as any Beyonce single, Drunk In Love was played out to me before the radio beat it to death.
